The Caribbean Studies Committee invites submissions for papers for the 2009 Meeting of the Conference on Latin American History in affiliation with the American Historical Association meeting in New York, New York, January 2-5, 2009.
Revolutions, rebellions, and uprisings have punctuated the past 500 years of Caribbean history, with rhythms and reverberations that cut across the usual historiographic divide between British, French, and Spanish-speaking islands.
The Committee encourages submissions by scholars working on all aspects of Caribbean Revolution without respect to geographical, national, or chronological boundaries. We especially invite graduate students and junior scholars to respond.
The deadline for submission is Fedruary 25.
Proposals should include the paper's title, abstract (no more than 300 words), and a brief C.V.
Proposals should be sent via email to both:
Sarah Franklin, sarah.franklin@usm.edu
Lara Putnam, lep12@pitt.edu
Please contact Sarah Franklin with any additional questions.
