Crossing Flatbush Avenue: Articulating the Space of Caribbean Brooklyn

The panel will explore the tensions embedded in transnational and multicultural Caribbean Brooklyn in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The panel will consider questions about the nature of racialized and ethnicized urban space, including novelistic and visual space, and its connection to migration, diaspora, language, cosmopolitanism, and home.
