The Underhill Organizing Committee at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, will be holding the 14th annual Underhill Graduate Student Colloquium (UGSC) on the 6th and 7th of March 2008. This year’s speaker will be Dr. Lynda Jessup of Queen’s University, renowned for her work on Native North American and Canadian visual culture, the Group of Seven, and museum representation. We are also happy to announce the continuation of “Access Carleton Lunch and Learn,” initiated last year, which profiles the work of new faculty in Carleton’s Department of History. This year’s speaker will be cultural and medieval history Dr. Marc Saurette.
The Organizing Committee is ready to receive proposals on any history related topic from any disciplinary background. Proposals should be no longer than 300 words and support presentations between 15 and 20 minutes in duration.
The deadline for submission is 15 January 2008
