For the 8th Biennial Conference on Nevada History, sponsored by and held at the Nevada Historical Society in Reno on May 20 and 21, we welcome papers and panels on any aspect of Nevada and the Great Basin, or papers related to Nevada on such subjects as gaming and mining. Our conference theme is "Alphabet Soup: The New Deal in Nevada," to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Franklin Roosevelt's presidency, and we especially welcome papers on the era in general in Nevada, but we will consider all Nevada-related topics for papers or, especially from students, short talks on works in progress. Please submit a one-page proposal and a short biographical sketch to the the Nevada Historical Society by March 15, 2008. Each proposal must include a mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. Proposals will be reviewed by a committee and a program will be composed by early April. Outstanding presentations will be considered for inclusion in the Nevada Historical Society Quarterly. Please call or email if you have any questions.
