On Thursday 31 January and Friday 1 February 2008, the SOMA-CEGES (Brussels) organises, in collaboration with the history department of the Università della Calabria, the symposium “Belgium-Congo. History vs. Memory”.
Belgian, Canadian, Congolese, French, Italian and Martiniquian historians, anthropologists and psychosociologists will participate. They will assess the fascinating and sometimes tense relationship between colonial history and colonial memory.
