Proposal topics from a broad range of themes will be considered, but we are particularly interested in papers from interdisciplinary perspectives that reflect one or more of the following sub themes:
Arts and Culture
HIV/AIDS in the 21st Century
Reparations Movement (Domestic and International)
State of Black Women in Black Studies
State of Black Youth throughout the Diaspora
The conference committee invites all those interested to submit 250-300 word abstracts for individual paper presentations or complete panel proposals. We also welcome submissions of film projects and performances. Please include a biography of no more than 100 words, along with your contact information. Abstracts must be submitted no later than January 11th 2008. Submissions may be sent electronically to LaToya Brackett.
While this conference is geared towards graduate scholars, we strongly encourage the participation of professionals, undergraduate students and community leaders.
