Genre Film Auteurs is a new book series focusing on the transformation of film genres by contemporary directors. Each monograph in the series will constitute an original, in-depth examination of the points of intersection between the creative vision of a particular director, American or international, and the enabling constraints of genre conventions.

The editor seeks innovative studies of the works of “genre film auteurs” that pay close attention to the aesthetics of the films in question while illuminating the processes of genre construction and authorship that take place within and shape collaborative industry practices.

Interested scholars should submit an abstract of no more than three pages, together with a brief biographical paragraph, to Eileen Jones, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, Chapman University at eijones@chapman.edu.
