EXTENDED DEADLINE for Submissions: January 7, 2008
Women for Women International, a non-profit humanitarian organization, seeks submissions for the Spring 2008 issue of its bi-annual academic journal, Critical Half.
This issue of the journal will focus on women’s leadership strategies and forms of communication in various contexts, such as politics, grassroots activism, and established organizations. These may include organizational and structural approaches, ideological considerations, social and religious interactions, the role of sex and sexuality, and the implications of class and socioeconomic status, as well as any other issues, problems, and solutions that are specific to women in leadership roles.
Papers which address issues of women’s leadership in conflict and post-conflict societies, developing countries, and trans-national contexts are particularly encouraged.
Articles should be 2,000-2,500 words long. Please consult the specific submission guidelines on-line at http://www.womenforwomen.org/cfpapers.htm for additional information on formatting, language, and style.
Critical Half presents various perspectives on economic, social, and political issues as they relate to women in conflict and post-conflict societies. It targets the international development and post-conflict reconstruction communities, including government policymakers, the United Nations, non-governmental organizations, U.S. foundations, academics, and philanthropists, as well as the grassroots supporters of Women for Women International and its programs.
