Papers are sought that address the fine arts internationalization process from the end of nineteenth century to the middle of the twentieth. We would like to see papers from a wide range of
theoretical and cultural perspectives, including anthropology, sociology of art, literary criticism and cultural studies.
Possible topics might include:
National identities and the individual artist
Figurative and abstraction as political points of view
Morality and fine arts
Nationalism versus internationalism
The role of communism on the international discourse of contemporary art
United States and the construction of Latin America
Modern Architecture and the international style
