Call for Publications
“French and Indians in the Interior of North America”
We are seeking articles for an upcoming special issue of the journal Recherches Amérindiennes au Québec (RAQ) that will focus on the relations between French and Indians in the Great Lakes, Illinois Country, Louisiana, and Missouri Valley, ca. 1660-1820.
Articles should generally relate to one of the following topics:
Fur Trade
Métissage
Diplomatic and military alliances
French Indian policy
French institutions in Indian Territory
French-Indian Relations After the End of the French Regime
Founded in Montreal in 1972, RAQ is a leading French language scholarly journal dedicated to Aboriginal studies. More information about the journal can be found at:

This special issue would be published in 2009 or early 2010. If you are interested in participating in this project we require the preliminary title for your article and your contact information (mailing, email, etc.) by January 15, 2008. Please note that we anticipate many titles to evolve up until the final submission (most likely Summer 2008). Abstracts are not required at this point. However, an abstract should accompany your completed article for inclusion in the journal. Articles submitted in English will be translated into French by the editors once accepted.
