Over the last three decades the body of feminist scholarship theorising and evaluating the impact of gender norms on the position of women in Europe has grown exponentially. This conference will explore current trends in scholarly debates and policy action in Europe and the international system more widely. The papers presented here will provide a framework for the analysis of current and future trends in the field of gender equality. Taking stock of current achievements in the field, the conference brings together scholars interested in uncovering the complexities that underpin gender hierarchies in Europe.
Keynote speakers: Prof. Joni Lovenduski, Prof. Catherine Hoskyns and Prof. Vicky Randall.
Parallel panels will explore the following issues: Gender Mainstreaming; Representation; Equality; Engendering EU Politics; Participation; Sexuality and Politics.
