The Southeast region of the Conference on Christianity and Literature will hold its annual meeting Apr 10-12 at Wingate University, 25 miles east of Charlotte, NC.
Our theme is "Christian Humanism in a Postmodern Age" and our keynote speaker is Ralph C. Wood.
We invite papers of 2000-2500 words on the following topics: contemporary fiction or poetry dealing with the future of Christianity, literary treatments of encounters between religions, the emergence of postmodern themes in modern literature, G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, or other "public" Christian intellectuals, classic expressions of Christian humanism from any period. We also welcome submissions on other aspects of the relation between Christianity and literature.
Manuscripts may be sumbitted in paper form or as email attachments in Word.
Please submit by February 1, 2008.
