CALL FOR PROPOSALS: SESSIONS, PANELS, PAPERS
MIDWEST CULTURE
NATIONAL POPULAR CULTURE & AMERICAN CULTURE ASSOCIATIONS
2008 JOINT CONFERENCE
March 19-22, 2008

San Francisco, California
We are considering proposals for sessions organized around a theme, special panels, and/or individual papers. Sessions are scheduled in 1½ hour slots, typically with four papers or speakers per standard session.
TOPICS MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Ethnic and folk cultures
• Depictions of the Midwest in popular culture
• Foodways
• History of the Midwest
• Midwestern art and artists
• Midwestern literature and writers
• Political culture
• Religious traditions
• Travel narratives
Should you or any of your colleagues be interested in submitting a proposal or have any questions, please contact the area chair (see below).
