East-West Dialogue 2007 4th edition
Human Security and Globalization
21-22 November 2007- Barcelona/Spain
With this fourth edition, the East-West Dialogue continues with its labour in favour of dialogue and understanding
between cultures, through its firm commitment with the Alliance of Civilizations. The process of globalization we are in has produced, without a doubt, great opportunities for human beings, but also new challenges. Therefore, it is
imperative to find concrete solutions shared by civil society and governments to reinforce human security and world
peace.
The main issue of the East-West Dialogue 2007 is the dimension of human security in globalization. The
roundtables around which this year’s Dialogue is structured are Migrations, Women Peacemakers, Energy and
Democratic Leadership, and the Nuclear Debate. As last year, young people from the East and the West will present
their proposals, issued from the two days of closed-door meetings that will be held before the Dialogue at Casa Asia.
Once again, the East-West Dialogue is the result of an active collaboration between Casa Asia and several prestigious
institutions such as: UNESCO, the Club of Madrid, the CIDOB Foundation, the Three Cultures Foundation, and the
Association of United Nations for Spain.
