THE Institute for Sustainable Development and Research ,ISDR, signed the Memorandum of Association (MoU) with the European Institutes ; Open University Geology Society ,UK’s (OUGS) mainland European Branch and International Commission on Groundwater –Seawater Interactions (CGSI),National Institute of Technology ,Kurukshetra (Deemed University ),Muktainagar Taluka Education Society ,MTES,India to implement the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (UN-MDGs)on Water and Sanitation in Asian ,American and European region . The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of water, environment and sanitation ; HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, housing and environmental improvements ,all by the target date of 2015 – form a blueprint agreed to by all the world’s countries and all the world’s leading development institutions.
ISDR-MTES-OUGS United Nation’s Millennnium Development Goals Implementation Center is started from 01-11-2006 in association with Institute For Sustainable Development And Research ,ISDR,Mumbai,India; Muktainagar Taluka Education Society,MTES,Muktainagar,India and Open University Geology Society ,OUGS,United Kingdom / Switzerland .
The participating institutes in this center are organisinbg the field visit to India from 16 February 2008 for two weeks: India and the Deccan.
This field visit , organised by our partners in India, will retrace some of the trip I took last year, focussed on Central India and the Deccan Plateau, with visits to Lonar, Ajanta and Ellora already in the programme including several social programs in villages. Participants will also have the opportunity to see Delhi and visit Agra and the Taj Mahal. Details to follow later. Price: ca. Euro 1’500.-, for European Sectors and Euro 1800-2000 for USA sectors including flight (Approximately). This covers accommodation, transport and meals. Booking open.
