University of the West, a WASC-accredited & Buddhist-founded campus, will have its preview night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007.
UWest will waive the $50 application fee ($100 for international students) for those who attend the event. The preview night is free to attend and refreshments will be served.
This is a chance to learn about UWest's undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. programs in Buddhist studies and Comparative Religious Studies, as well as the graduate program in psychology with an emphasis in Buddhist psychology.
UWest interim chair of the Department Religious Studies Dr. Ken Locke will be on hand, along with admissions staff and financial aid officers, to assist you in completing the UWest applications for admission and financial aid. The department chair is offering $2,000 scholarships for qualified students. UWest also offers the International Buddhist Education Foundation scholarship of $2,000-$4,000 (based on level of study) to qualified students in the Religious Studies Program. Of course, federal financial aid is also available.
UWest also has on-campus housing.
