Call for Submissions

The Journal of American Studies of Turkey announces a special issue for 2007 on race, ethnicity, and Americans. This issue seeks to present innovative studies in American racial and ethnic identities and constructions of identity from historical, literary, sociological, international, or comparative perspectives. Interdisciplinary approaches are welcome. The issue will contain research articles as well as reviews of recent books and films. Only submissions of original articles and reviews not previously published or concurrently under consideration elsewhere will be considered.
Submissions should be approximately 3000-5000 words in length, and reviews should not exceed 500 words. Four hardcopies of submissions should be sent to the following address:

The postmark deadline for submissions for this issue is December 15, 2007.

A semiannual publication of the American Studies Association of Turkey, JAST operates with a blind peer referee system. It publishes work in English by scholars of any nationality. Contributors need not be members of the American Studies Association of Turkey. JAST has been indexed in the MLA International Bibliography, Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory, and the American Humanities Index since the publication of its first issue of Spring 1995, and in the MLA Directory of Periodicals since 1999.
