Lecture on the Evolution of Native American Identity

The Potomac Corral of Westerners International will present its 2007 Jeff C. Dykes Memorial Award for “Notable Contributions to Western Affairs” to Dr. R. David Edmunds at a luncheon to be held at the Cosmos Club, 2121 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C. at noon on Wednesday, October 24, 2007. Dr. Edmunds, the Watson Professor of History at The University of Texas at Dallas and the outgoing president of the Western History Association, is one of today’s foremost scholars in the field of Native American History. He will give a presentation entitled “Moving With the Seasons, Not Fixed in Stone: The Evolution of Native American Identity." The Cosmos Club is a private social club that has a dress code. The luncheon cost is $40.00 and there is a choice of three entrees. The reservation deadline is 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
