The genocide in Darfur has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians. What is the history of the conflict and what can be done to stop it? This timely program seeks to answer these questions. After the program, join us for the N-YHS debut of Darfur, Darfur, a dramatic exhibition of building-sized images projected onto the façade of the Museum.
Ann Curry (MODERATOR) is an Emmy Award-winning broadcaster, news anchor for the “Today” show and co-anchor of “Dateline NBC.” She has traveled three times to Sudan to report on the conflict. John Prendergast is a co-founder of the ENOUGH Campaign and a senior adviser to the International Crisis Group. He is co-author, with actor/activist Don Cheadle, of Not On Our Watch. Omer Ismail is a refugee from Darfur and co-founder of Darfur Peace and Development, a U.S.-based advocacy organization.
