Contemporanea invites submissions of scholarly research or general interpretive and historiographical articles. Articles should not exceed 10.000-12.000 words. They can be submitted in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian. They must demonstrate original research and must differ substantially from other published work. Proposals must include a 300 word abstract and a vitae.
All articles submitted to Contemporanea undergo a thorough peer reviewing process, comprising a preliminary editorial screening and highly qualified reviewing by two external anonymous referees.
Contemporanea. Rivista di storia dell'800 e del '900 is a peer-reviewed historical journal published four times a year. Its purpose is to make the findings of advanced historical research available to a large public of Italian-language readers and to promote debates on major themes and controversies in international historical research. It offers innovative new research on any aspect of history covering the period from 1750 to the present. It is committed to developing a broad geographical basis by featuring research on all parts of the world. Contemporanea is also committed to promoting cross-disciplinary exchanges.
