The Women's Committee of the Economic History Society's one-day workshop will be held at the University of Edinburgh on Saturday 3 November 2007. The theme is SCOTLAND, UNION AND EMPIRE and topics include Union, Empire and National Identity; Female Frontiers within the Empire; and Scotland and Slave Societies. Speakers lined up include Esther Breitenbach, Tom Devine, Margot Finn, Felicity Donohoe, Doug Hamilton, Marjory Harper, Claire Swan, Taylor Stoermer and Philip Stern. There are still places left if you would like to attend. Everyone is welcome, lunch is included, and the day will be followed by a wine reception. We offer discounts for EHS members and students.
