The North Carolina Association of Historians offers opportunities for historians in all fields — American, Non-Western, European, state and local — to meet and discuss research and exchange ideas with colleagues throughout the state of North Carolina and the Mid-Atlantic region.
Although most presenters in the past have been university faculty, advanced graduate students and undergraduate students have participated.
The conference will be held on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke on Friday, March 28, 2008.
Papers presented at the annual meeting are eligible for consideration for the Association's Prizes. The Brewster Prize is for college or university faculty. In addition, there are prizes for Undergraduate and Graduate student papers. Prize-winning papers are considered for publication in the Association's Journal. The Association publishes the JOURNAL OF THE NORTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF HISTORIANS (ISSN 1078-4330). The Journal features articles in all fields of History and a generous selection of book reviews.
