Dear Past Participants and Interested Scholars,
The Rural and Agricultural Studies Section invites paper and session proposals for the 50th Annual Western Social Science Association meeting, to be held April 23-26, 2008 in Denver, Colorado at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. As an organization, the WSSA is committed to multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary scholarship, service, and collegiality. The deadline for proposals is December 1, 2007. Panels, roundtable discussions, and papers on any aspect of rural studies or agriculture in any part of the world are welcome. Varying in discipline, approach, and scope, past papers have addressed small towns, extraction-based economies, population change, food policy, and social and environmental history. Scholars willing to serve as moderators/discussants should indicate their interests.
