The Oregon Heritage Conference seeks to inform and inspire Oregonians involved in the state's cultural heritage efforts. Attendees include community leaders, staff and volunteers from historical societies, museums, ethnic organizations, schools, historic preservation commissions, humanities groups, the tourism industry, economic development, history buffs and professional historians, youth, and local, tribal, state and federal governments.
The 2008 conference will take place May 4-6 in Eugene and include the second presentation of the Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards, and the first presentations by university students who have been selected for the first Oregon Heritage Fellows.
Previous conferences have included workshops, walking tours, speakers, bus tours, seminars and meetings, both at the conference site and at heritage sites.
The Oregon Heritage Commission is sponsoring the conference, with assistance from the Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries, and the State Historic Preservation Office. Please share this information with others whom you think may be interested.
