The History Press is continually seeking proposals from historians and archivists for new history publications of all kinds. We are a traditional publisher, not a vanity press, meaning that we handle all stages of publishing including financing, sales, marketing and distribution (and pay our authors on a royalty-basis).
We feel strongly that there is a large and growing audience for titles on Southeast and Northeast regional history and we are particularly seeking brief histories of villages and towns (A Cuban-American History of Ybor City, for example), personal narratives of local citizens (such as our Gullah storytelling series), and definitive histories of local industry (such as John Jerry Anderson and His Magic Maverick Motor Company).
Please visit our website to see similar titles and contact an editor to discuss any of your book proposals.
