We are seeking proposals for the twelfth annual New Frontiers in Graduate History Conference. We encourage papers from a wide range of national, regional, thematic, and methodological backgrounds. New Frontiers is an excellent opportunity for both MA and PhD students, in history and in related fields, to present papers to colleagues from across Canada and the United States. As is always the case, we will be accepting papers on any geographic location and on a wide range of themes and topics including:
- History and Theory
- Public Memory and Commemoration
- Law, Politics, Protest and the State
- Science, Technology and Society
- Religion
- Race, Ethnicity, and Identity
- Gender, Sexuality, and the Body
- Empire and Nation
- Popular Culture and Consumerism
- The City and the Environment
- Migration and Diaspora
- Work, Class, and Community
Applicants are invited to submit 250 word proposals for individual papers or panels of either two or three papers. Submissions must be accompanied by a short biographical statement and email contact information.
Guest speakers at the conference will include Alan MacEachern, from the University of Western Ontario.

Nous recherchons des projets de présentations pour le douzième colloque annuel des Nouvelles Frontières (connue sous le nom de New Frontiers.) Nous acceptons des papiers sur des sujets divers et variés, dont les perspectives peuvent être nationales, régionales, thématiques, et/ou méthodologiquement traditionnelles ou atypiques. Nouvelles Frontières est une excellente opportunité, pour les étudiants en maîtrise comme pour les doctorants en histoire et dans les matières associées, de présenter leurs projets à des collègues issus (pour la plupart) d'institutions états-uniennes et canadiennes. Comme lors des éditions précédentes, nous acceptons les projets se concentrant sur n'importe quels lieux, thèmes, et sujets, dont (la liste n'est pas exhaustive) :
- Culture Populaire et Consumérisme
- Genre, Sexualité et Histoire Corporelle
- Histoire et Théorie
- Histoire Religieuse
- Histoires Impériale et Nationale
- Histoires Juridique, Politique, de la Contestation, et de l'Etat
- Histoires Urbaine et Environnementale
- Immigration et Diaspora
- Mémoire Collective et Commémoration
- Race, Ethnicité, et Identité
- Science, Technologie, et Société
- Travail, Classe, et Communauté(s)
Nous invitons donc ceux qui le désirent à nous soumettre un extrait de leur papier (250 mots environ.) Il est aussi possible de nous envoyer un plan de panel – les panels seront composés de deux ou trois intervenants. Ces derniers auront 20 minutes chacun(e) pour présenter leur papier.
Chaque papier devra être accompagné d'une courte note biographique ainsi que d'un courriel.
Le colloque comptera, parmi ses conférenciers de marque, Alan MacEachern, de l'Université de Western Ontario.
