We invite proposals for papers on the cultures and societies of early medieval Iberia (400-1050) for a session, sponsored by the American Academy of Research Historians of Medieval Spain, at the 43rd International Congress on Medieval Studies (Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, May 8-11, 2008). Papers may deal with art, religion, texts, historiography, or any aspects of the history of the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim communities of Iberia in the early Middle Ages. Interdisciplinary studies are particularly welcome, as are papers that deal with the relations between different cultural communities.
Please send an abstract (250-300 words) and the abstract cover sheet (available at: http://www.wmich.edu/medieval/Assets/pdf/congress/ACS.pdf)
to Dr. James D'Emilio (demilio@shell.cas.usf.edu) by Sept. 15, 2007.
