Authors Wanted: Oxford Encyclopedia of African American History
We are seeking authors to write entries for the 20th century volumes of Oxford's Encyclopedia of African American History. We have about 100 entries left to assign including a number of short biographical entries (500-1000 words) as well as longer essays on a range of topics. Oxford pays a small stipend, and they will want completed essays in about 6 to 8 weeks. If you are enterested in participating, please send me a short vita and your contact information. I will e-mail you a list of available entries and other information.
This encyclopedia is projected as a 4-volume set that will be published in a traditional print edition in 2008. In addition this work is a central component of Oxford’s comprehensive African American reference set which includes this encyclopedia (the pre-20th century volumes are already published), Africana, African American National Biography, Black Women in America, and a collection of primary sources and other materials. All of these items will be available in print editions as well as on-line, by subscription, at the Oxford African American Studies Center web site (http://www.oxfordaasc.com/public/).
I will be happy to answer any questions about this project.
