The Popular American Authors Area of the National Popular Culture and American Culture 2008 Joint Conference invites proposals for individual papers or for panels organized around a particular American author or theme. The conference will be held in San Francisco, CA on March 19-22, 2008. Proposals should be submitted electronically by October 15, 2007, to Huey Guagliardo, Area Chair at and must include a title and an abstract of 150-200 words, as well as complete contact information (name, e-mail address, phone, and affiliation).
Submit proposals to one program area only. All presenters must be members of ACA and must register for the conference. Ninety-minute sessions typically include four presenters. Each presenter is allowed 15 minutes, with the remaining time used for discussion with the audience.
