Christopher Leslie Brown, Visiting Professor of History at Columbia University, will present the Richard S. Wells Lecture at the University of North Carolina Greensboro on October 11, 2007. The title of Professor Brown's lecture is "American Liberty, British Antislavery." The lecture will take place in the auditorium of the Curry Building on the UNCG campus, at 7:30 p.m.
The Richard S. Wells Lectures: New Approaches to Early American History was established in 2005 by a donation from Keith Sutton Wells, who received a MA degree in History from UNCG in 2002. The series is named for Richard S. Wells, the retired David Ross Byrd Professor of Political Science at the University of Oklahoma.
