A new name and a new website

Women’s History Month has been re-badged as the Australian Women’s History Forum to capitalise on the interest and information generated through WHM.

Australian Women’s History Forum (AWHF) is an over arching body incorporating Women’s History Month and its sponsorship of a Special Category in the National History Challenge for school students.

The AWHF has a new website, the Australian Women’s History Forum Portal which will, over time, absorb the content on the WHM site as well as some new features. On this site you will be able to check:

News: about events, books, exhibitions, launches etc

Gallery: The images drawn from women identified in WHM annual themes

Almanac: Listing key events in Australian women’s history, a timeline of milestones and anniversaries

Who’s Who: An index of women identified through WHM

Historic places: Identifying and promoting places of relevance to Australian women’s history

Links: To relevant sites such as the Australian Women’s Archive project

A Forum: A place for comments on the site, suggestions of names, places and key events
