The Southwestern Historical Association invites proposals for panels or individual papers in any area of history for its 2008 meeting at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in LAS VEGAS, NV, March 12-15.
Proposals are welcome from faculty, independent scholars, public historians, and students. Students may also propose papers or entire panels for student-only panel sessions sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta, the national History Honor Society.
PLEASE SEND PROPOSALS FOR PAPERS AND SESSIONS TO THE APPROPRIATE PROGRAM AREA COORDINATOR LISTED BELOW. Proposals must include a title, a short abstract (for an individual paper or for each paper on a proposed panel) and a brief c.v. (or multiple ones for full-panel proposals). The program coordinators must receive all proposals by OCTOBER 19, 2007 via traditional mail or by way of email attachments. Requests for projection equipment also must be submitted by the due date indicated above. Meeting details are forthcoming at www.sssaonline.org
We encourage you to participate in a meeting that offers unique opportunities to hundreds of historians to present their scholarship and promote the interests of the profession in a collegial and constructive setting. The 2007 meeting, held in Albuquerque, NM, was a huge success and we look forward to expanding the number of participants and panels for our 2008 meeting in Las Vegas.
