Truth Will Out is a 3-day international, inter-disciplinary conference, sponsored by the Royal Historical Society and Society for Renaissance Studies, to be held at Canterbury Christ Church University, Wednesday 22 – Friday 24 August, 2007.
The keynote speakers are Martin Ingram, Claire Jowitt, Mary Polito, Nina Taunton and Sue Wiseman.
This conference aims to provide a forum for scholars who work on various aspects of crimes, the people who commit them, and how such acts and people are imagined in the early modern period
Topics include: criminals in popular literature – prison writing - crime and the canon - female crimes and criminals - crime and the state - legislation – patterns and geographical locations of crime.
