The NJ Historical Commission, the NJ State Archives, and the NJ State Museum invite proposals for research papers to be delivered at the second biennial New Jersey Forum, to be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
Proposals can be submitted by faculty members, teachers, graduate students, independent scholars, museum and archives professionals,historical society members, historical records experts, and all others with an interest in New Jersey studies, which is defined broadly to include not only history, but also archaeology, fine and decorative arts, material culture, geography, humanities, literature, ethnic studies, public history, history of science, public policy, etc.
If you would like to present a research paper at the Forum, email a proposal to the following address: .
The proposal should include:
the title of your paper
contact information (address, telephone, e-mail)
a one-paragraph bio
an abstract of no more than 750 words (not the full manuscript)
any audio-visual requirements
You can also suggest a panel with two papers. Please include the same information as above for all panelists. All information must be provided by e-mail.
The deadline for receipt of proposals is December 1, 2007. All proposals will be referred to an advisory committee that will select the papers that will be presented at the Forum and will establish the separate panels. Notifications will be sent in February to those who submitted proposals.
