Since its inception in 2004, the multi-disciplinary approach of the Sports and Africa Symposium has allowed scholars and practitioners to explore multiple dimensions of African sport and to learn from each other. In continuing the multi-disciplinary exploration and study of African Sport, Communication, Media and Sports in Africa will be the leading theme of 2008 symposium. Therefore, the 2008 conference will focus on themes such as:

* Digital media and sport
* Internet and sport
* Satellite and cable media and sport
* Women sport in media
* Youth and sport media
* Economics and sport media
* Media and the 2010 World Cup
* The Role of Media Sponsorship in Sports

Although we encourage the submission of papers that focus on communication, media and sports, conference organizers are also open to the submission of papers that deal with other aspects of sports in Africa.
