Geographies of Gender: Women, Space, and Place in Medieval Europe
We seek contributions to a special issue of the Medieval Feminist Forum dedicated to the analysis of the ways in which women's spaces and places were experienced, constructed, reformed or resisted in the medieval period. Possible topics include polities and women's rule, architecture relating to women, women inside and outside of the study, sanctuaries, the home, manor, field, and market. Papers linked to the International Medieval Congress at Leeds' theme of "Cities" would be welcome. The editors also encourage the submission of notes for future research, or document or archival descriptions related to the themes of geography, space, or place. Deadline for completed submissions is August 15, 2007. Please send queries, proposals, or completed essays (CD/disk or electronic versions) to the following:
