Anthony Gorman and Didier Monciaud are conducting a workshop(no.11) at the 9th Mediterranean Research Meeting of the European University Institute to be held at Florence and Montecatini Terme on 12-15 March 2008. Titled Between Politics, Social History and Culture: The Press in the Middle East and North Africa before Independence it seeks papers dealing with a wide range of political, social, cultural and technical aspects of the press in the Middle East in the period before independence
