Call for Submissions
End of Days: Popular Conceptions of the Apocalypse
This collection of essays takes an interdisciplinary
approach to studying the popular history of /
receptivity to apocalyptic ideas, from the Middle Ages
to the Modern Era.
The editors welcome contributions from specialists in
history, literature, art history, music, cultural
studies, etc. Submissions may include but need
not be limited to: methodological issues in studying
the apocalypse; medieval, early modern and modern
popular conceptions of the End of Days; analysis of
specifically medieval apocalyptic expectations within
a modern framework.
Submissions that look at modern adaptations of
particularly medieval apocalyptic ideas are especially
welcome.
Abstract/prospectus due November 1, 2007.
Article due January 1, 2008.
