"Looking back, Looking forward - Electoral Reform in Labour's History"
4.00 for 4.30pm
Sunday 24th June
People's History Museum, Pump House, Bridge Street, MANCHESTER
The People’s History Museum – in association with the Electoral Reform Society – will be offering an opportunity to attend a special opening of its “Battle of the Ballot” exhibition, which explores the history of popular struggle for democratic rights in Britain.
We would invite visitors to have a glass of wine with us as we reflect on the history of Labour’s interest in electoral reform issues, and also on the challenges Gordon Brown’s administration now faces in delivering a fairer and more representative democratic system for the future. Speakers already confirmed include Professor Gerry Stoker (Associate Director, Institute of Political Economics Governance at Manchester University) and Dr. Ken Ritchie, (Chief Executive, ERS).
