Spirituality and religion are central to human existence. The interface between the two is germane to engendering robust social capital with its implications for self-reliance. However, spirituality and religion are capable of being misunderstood if not properly defined and explained. Thus, the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization in line with its commitment to the promotion of global understanding of Black and African Culture in conjunction with PANAFSTRAG, is organizing an international colloquium to stimulate and foster a common dialogue of faiths, by assembling scholars and practitioners with diverse research interests. The Conference will interrogate the interface of African Spirituality, Religious Tradition, Social Capital and Self-reliance with a view to achieving sustainable development for Africa and Africans in the Diaspora.
