Now in its 21st year, the Two Days of Canada Conference at Brock University offers a unique, multidisciplinary, and dynamic forum for the exploration of Canadian culture, society, history, and politics. This year’s conference, “Visions and Visionaries,” seeks to bring together scholars from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds to explore issues related to religion in Canada, in both the past and present. Papers may be related to any faith, creed, or belief system, and might include (but are not limited to) such topics as:
Alternative religions/religious practices
Denominational politics
Economics of organized religion
Fundamentalism and government
Religion and Education
Religion and film/media
Religion and health
Religion and literature
Religion and science
Religion and social policy
Religion and violence
Religious Art/iconography
Secularization/sacralization
Proposals for papers or panels should be sent to Renée Lafferty or Mike Berman c/o the Centre for Canadian Studies at Brock University by 20 August 2007. Proposals should be no longer than 250 words, and should be accompanied by a brief biographical profile of no more than 50 words.
