The European History Section of the Southern Historical Association invites proposals for individual papers and complete panels for presentation at its annual meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, November 19-22, 2008.
Papers on any aspect of European history are welcome. The program committee especially encourages proposals concerning digital history, historical methodology, the teaching of history, and comparative history.
Presenters may include graduate students as well as faculty members. Panels should consist of two or three papers, a commentator, and a chair. It is not recommended that a panel consist exclusively of graduate students.
Proposals may be submitted online via the European History Section website: www.utm.edu/staff/accarls/ehs. Non-electronic submissions should include a one-page description of each paper and a short c.v. of each panelist, and should be mailed to the program committee chair, Elisabeth Cawthon.
Please note that all program participants (including chairs and commentators as well as paper presenters) are required to be EHS members. To check on membership status or join the EHS, please email EHS Secretary-Treasurer Alice-Catherine Carls: accarls@utm.edu. The dues will be returned if a non-member’s proposal is not accepted.
Proposals are due by September 15, 2007.
