One more paper and a respondent are sought for a panel on “Visions of Greece in Imperial Britain” at the European Social History Conference (ESSHC) in Lisbon, 27 February – 1 March 2008. Proposals should address views of ancient Greek history in eighteenth-century Britain including the exemplars it provided for empire, democracy and the reception of ancient advice for princes. Please send proposals (200-300 words) before 01 July 2007 to cakca@bilkent.edu.tr and rachel.sternberg@case.edu. Kindly include your name, title, affiliation and email address with the abstract.
