Gender remains an important concept in historical enquiry. This two-day conference will explore gender (both masculine and feminine) in domestic, national and imperial contexts. It invites postgraduates and academics to consider gender within these confines from the eighteenth century to the present day. The first day will provide postgraduates and academics early in their career with an opportunity to present papers in an informal and constructive environment. The second day will be dedicated to papers and a roundtable discussion by academics who have made substantial contributions to this field. A revised deadline for paper proposals is 18th May 2007. Bookings will be taken from 25th May via the conference web pages.
