The Ethnography Area of the Midwest Popular Culture Association invites submissions of papers, paper proposals, and panel proposals on any aspect of ethnography and popular culture. Each individual paper/presentation should be designed to last 15 minutes. The conference will take place October 12-14, 2007, in Kansas City, Missouri. More information about the conference is available at:

Papers may include presentations of ethnographic research, or address theoretical, methodological, or historical issues related to ethnography. Interdisciplinary perspectives on ethnography are welcome, as are discussions of new directions in ethnographic research (such as media ethnography).

Please include: the title of your paper; your name, affiliation, postal address, and telephone number; and the e-mail address of each author/participant. Also include requests for any special technology you might need. Inquiries should be directed to the Area Chair, Asim Ali, by email (aali@umd.edu) or by phone (301-405-0673).
