CALL FOR PAPERS: The Canadian Ethnic Studies Association invites proposals for papers, sessions, panels, roundtables, and poster presentations that address the topics of ethnicity, immigration, diversity, and multiculturalism in Canada, particularly in relation to civil society and globalization. Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words. Individual presentations will normally be 20 minutes in length, and conference sessions will be 90 minutes.
ABSTRACTS: Abstracts of 250 words or less must include the paper title the name(s) of the authors, affiliation, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. Follow the template provided at the end of this announcement. Send abstracts by email to cesa@uwinnipeg.ca . Please indicate CESA 2007 in the email subject line. Please indicate whether you are proposing to present a regular paper, a poster, or a round table discussion.

PUBLICATION: It is anticipated that a special issue of Canadian Ethnic Studies/Etudes ethniques au Canada will publish selected papers from the conference. To be considered for publication in the special issue, papers must be written in accordance with the journal’s guidelines and submitted to the journal no later than two weeks after the conference.

The text of the abstract follows the title and author contact information. Single space the text and use a regular font such as Times New Roman 12 point font. Do not use italics unless necessary for foreign words or special terms. Abstracts may be in English or French. They should be in the language in which the author will use to present the paper. The abstract should be concise and indicate the salient points of the paper. It is not appropriate to discuss the findings of your research in detail. Shorter abstracts are preferred. The conference organizers will edit abstracts that exceed the stated limit to bring them within the 250 word requirement.
