The 18th Military History Colloquium will be held at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada between 3 and 5 May 2007. Featuring more than 30 presenters including Marc Milner, Tim Cook, Pat Brennan, Serge Durflinger and Lee Windsor, the conference explores various themes in military history with an emphasis on the social and cultural aspects of the discipline. Panel topics include: Canada and the Great War, the Canadian Navy, the Canadian Air Force, the Legacy of the Great War, Public History, the Second World War, Wars of the 20th Century and Historiography.
This year’s public key note address will be given on Thursday, 3 May by Dr. Marc Milner and is titled “In Search of the Lost Battalion: The North Shore Regiment from D-Day to Carpiquet.” The conference includes a banquet held at the Canadian War Plane Heritage Museum in Hamilton and a keynote address by Dr. Lee Windsor titled “Attack on the Gothic Line: The Long Right Flank of the Normandy Breakout.” The banquet will be preceded by a book launch hosted by UBC Press and a tour of the museum
Registration is $85.00 ($50.00 for students) if registered by 20 April. Thereafter Registration is $115.00 ($85.00 for students). This fee includes the banquet dinner, transportation to the event, admission to the museum and conference access.
