The subculture area of the Midwest Popular Culture Association invites submissions of papers, paper proposals, and panel proposals on any aspect subculture. Each individual paper/presentation should be designed to last 15 minutes. More information about the conference is available at: http://www.mpcaaca.org
Papers may include presentations of theories involving subculture and countercultural expressions of meaning, identity, and reactions to hegemony. Papers may also include topics which explore subcultural expressions of religion, whether mainstream, cult-oriented, or utopian.
Completed papers, 250-word abstracts/proposals, or 500-word panel proposals must be received by April 30, 2007. Please include: the title of your paper; your name, affiliation, postal address, and telephone number; and the e-mail address of each author/participant. Also include requests for any special technology you might need. Inquiries should be directed to the Area Chair, Shawn David Young, by email.(shawn.young@greenville.edu). Papers and proposals should be sent to the Area Chair, preferably by e-mail.
