This international symposium will focus on new areas of inquiry and new perspectives on the history of Latin American and Caribbean intellectuals. Invited participants include Heloisa Pontes and Sergio Miceli from Brazil; Javier Garciadiego and Ricardo Pozas Horcasitas from Mexico; Dominican scholar Silvio Torres-Saillant; Annick Lempérière from France; Carlos Altamirano, Jorge Myers, Adrián Gorelik and Alejandro Blanco from Argentina; Javier Lasarte from Venezuela; Nora Catelli from Spain; Cuban writer Rafael Rojas; and Argentine writer Ricardo Piglia. Organizers: Arcadio Díaz-Quiñones and Jeremy Adelman. All events are free and open to the public (Thursday, April 12-Saturday, April 14, 2007).
