Conference reminder, Pennsylvania Hospital History of Women's Health Conference 4.11.07

The Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, will host its second annual History of Women’s Health Conference on Wednesday, April 11, 2007. The History of Women’s Health Conference focuses on women’s health issues from the late 18th century to the present. Topics this year include: puerperal fever, syphilis, sex education, and gender, breastfeeding, child birth options, late 20th century health care movements, including feminist led movements, postmenopausal women’s sexuality, mental illness, and post pregnancy depression. The opening speaker will be Dr. Florence Haseltine, Director of the Center for Population Research. Dr. Haseltine’s presentation will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sessions begin at 9 a.m. A round table luncheon will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and will address the state of maternal care in the Philadelphia Region.
